Don’t get shut out, there are still tickets for the 26th Annual Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta available, but act now as tickets are going fast and the event has sold out each of the past 25 years. The best food and wine event in the Southwest, still crushing and roasting after 26 years.
This September 18th through 25th, a special week is scheduled featuring 75 Santa Fe restaurants and 100 world-class wineries partnering in eight days of epicurean pleasure.
New this year is the Santa Fe Wine & Chile Film Fiesta, scheduled for Sunday September 18th thru Tuesday September 20th. Each night, two SFWC restaurants will serve tastes with wine at a reception to a screening of three different films.
As always, the Fiesta includes six guest chef winery luncheons, seven cooking demos at the Santa Fe School of Cooking, eight wine seminars at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, 40 nightly wine dinners at Santa Fe restaurants, the Live Auction Guest Chefs Luncheon at the Eldorado Hotel, the Reserve Tasting at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, and the piece de resistance: the Grand Tasting on Saturday afternoon September 24th on the grounds of the Santa Fe Opera facing the Sangre de Cristo Rocky Mountains in all their golden fall color.
Visiting guest chefs hosting luncheons and cooking demos include Cy Yontz of Rio Grill in Monterey, Alex Seidel of Mercantile and Fruition in Denver, Peter Janiak of Seghesio in Sonoma, Matthew Accarrino of the popular Michelin one-star restaurant SPQR in San Francisco, John Sedlar of the newly-opened ELOISA in Santa Fe and of Rivera in Los Angeles, Laura Werlin, the author and cheese authority from San Francisco and Kevin Nashan of Sidney St. Cafe in St. Louis.
We are honored to have Ted Seghesio of Seghesio Family Vineyards as the SFWC Honorary Winery of the Year. Ted will host a retrospective Seghesio seminar and be our host at the Live Auction Luncheon with four of his wines.
Four guest Master Sommeliers will host the eight wine seminars. Master Sommeliers Joseph Spellman and Tim Gaiser, longtime supporters and moderators of Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiestas wine events, are joined by Master Sommelier Fred Dame and Master of Wine Geoff Labitzke.
Local chefs partnering with the visiting chefs for events include Mark Kiffin of the Compound Restaurant, Louis Moskow of 315 Restaurant and Wine Bar, Charles Dale of Bouche Bistro, James Campbell Caruso of La Boca, Martin Rios of Restaurant Martin, Marc Quinones of Luminaria, Eduardo Rodriguez of Coyote Cafe, Silin Cruz of Geronimo, Tony Smith of the Eldorado and more.
Santa Fe Artist Darren Vigil Gray In Charity Auction
This year’s featured artist is Santa Fe legend Darren Vigil Gray and his commissioned piece of art exclusive for the Fiesta will be one of the 36 live auction lots that include rare wines and unique wine lifestyle events. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Santa Fe’s Cooking with Kids.
The weekend’s penultimate event is the Grand Tasting where 75 of Santa Fe’s finest restaurants serve tastes side by side with 100 world-class wineries under the clear and crisp high desert skies at the Santa Fe Opera. While some national wine events can boast the number of quality wineries participating, none can boast the number of quality restaurants serving food at the Grand Tasting.
Sunday’s events include a Champagne Perrier Jouet Brunch at the Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe, The Gruet Winery Golf Classic at Buffalo Thunder’s Towa Golf Course and the Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta Gran Fondo bike ride from and to the Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe with celebrity chefs and guest sommeliers as your team captains.
At Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta, the skies are never bluer, the wines never better, and Santa Fe’s culinary arts collectively never shine so brightly. Plan to be a part of the 26th Celebration the last weekend of September 2016.
