25th Annual Schedule

The Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta, the best food and wine event in the Southwest, is still crushing and roasting after 25 years.chile_sedlar

This September 23rd through 27th, a special weekend is scheduled featuring 75 Santa Fe restaurants and 100 world-class wineries partnering in five days of epicurean pleasure. The Fiesta includes six guest chef winery luncheons, seven cooking demos at the Santa Fe School of Cooking, eight wine seminars, 40 nightly wine dinners at Santa Fe restaurants, the Live Auction Guest Chefs Luncheon at the Eldorado Hotel, the Reserve Tasting at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, and the piece de resistance: the Grand Tasting on Saturday afternoon September 26th on the grounds of the Santa Fe Opera facing the Sangre de Cristo Rocky Mountains in all their golden fall color.

Visiting VIP’s
Visiting guest chefs hosting luncheons and cooking demos include Matthew Accarrino of the popular Michelin one-star restaurant SPQR in San Francisco, Stephan Pyles of Stephan Pyles Restaurant in Dallas, John Sedlar of the newly-opened ELOISA in Santa Fe and of Rivera in Los Angeles, and Laura Werlin the author and cheese authority from San Francisco.
Four guest Master Sommeliers will host the eight wine seminars. Master Sommeliers Joseph Spellman and Tim Gaiser, longtime supporters and moderators of Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiestas wine events, are joined this year by Master Sommelier Fred Dame.

Local chefs partnering with the visiting chefs for events include Mark Kiffin of the Compound Restaurant, Eric DiStefano of Coyote Cafe, Louis Moskow of 315 Restaurant and Wine Bar, Charles Dale of Bouche Bistro, James Campbell Caruso of La Boca, Martin Rios of Restaurant Martin, Juan Bochenski of the Anasazi Restaurant, Tony Smith of the Eldorado and Fernando Olea of Epazote.

Chefs Mark Kiffin, Stephan Pyles, John Sedlar, Katherine Clapner and Tony Smith partner on Thursday September 24th at the Live Auction Luncheon where this year’s Honorary Winery of the Year, Silver Oak Wine Cellars, will be honored with owner Tim Duncan. This year’s Champagne Of The Year, Champagne Ruinart, will host the auction preview. Five courses from five guest chefs will be paired with Champagne Ruinart and four Silver Oak & Twomey Cellars wines.

Legendary Artist Dan Namingha Participates In Charity Auction
This year’s featured artist is Santa Fe legend Dan Namingha and his commissioned piece of art exclusive for the Fiesta will be one of the 36 live auction lots that include rare wines and unique wine lifestyle events. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Santa Fe’s Cooking with Kids.

The weekend’s penultimate event is the Grand Tasting where 75 of Santa Fe’s finest restaurants serve tastes side by side with 100 world-class wineries under the clear and crisp high dessert skies at the Santa Fe Opera. While some national wine events can boast the number of quality wineries participating, none can boast the number of quality restaurants serving food at the Grand Tasting.

Sunday’s events include a Champagne Ruinart Brunch at the Four Seasons Rancho Encantado, The Gruet Winery Golf Classic at Buffalo Thunder’s Towa Golf Course and the Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta Gran Fondo bike ride from the Four Seasons Rancho Encantado with celebrity chefs and guest sommeliers as your team captains.

At Santa Fe Wine & Chile, the skies are never bluer, the wines never better, and Santa Fe’s culinary arts collectively never shine so brightly. Plan to be a part of the 25th Celebration the last weekend of September 2015.
