NEW: View Gran Fondo Route Map here (PDF 170 KB) The Inaugural Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta Gran Fondo is really coming together and there is still room for riders to sign up. The ride loop starting from and returning to Four Seasons Rancho Encantado will take you through four historic Northern New Mexico Villages — Cundiyo, Truchas, Chimayo and Nambé.
Unique to the ride are four gourmet food stations hosted by four guest chefs. Michelle Bernstein of Michy’s in Miami (James Beard Best Chef of the South) will start you off with her luscious fruit and yogurt cup with her homemade Granola. Two rest stop food stations along the way to fuel your ride are hosted by Matthew Accarrino of SPQR, this year’s Food and Wine Magazine Best New Chef and Kevin Nashan of Sidney Street Café in St. Louis. An additional celebrity joining the ride will be Chris DiMinno, executive chef of Chris King Precision Parts. Mark Kiffin of The Compound Restaurant (James Beard Best Chef of the Southwest) will host the finish station back at the Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado with his Zacatecas Taco Bar and chilled Champagne Ruinart.
Four historic Northern New Mexico villages will be your rest stops for great eats along the ride – Nambe, Cundiyo, Truchas and Chimayo. A 72-mile loop, climbing to Truchas, is available or an easier 58 mile loop.
Riding a bicycle has never been so beautiful and delicious – the views and food will not be beat.
