2014 Schedule Announced

Santa Fe Gran FondoSanta Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta is pleased to announce the 2014 schedule of events, featuring an amazing 5 days of food & wine events highlighting the culinary arts of Santa Fe. Tickets go on sale 9am Monday July 7th, Mountain time.

The 24th edition of the Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta features 80 great Santa Fe restaurants and 100 world class wineries partnering in 5 guest chef luncheons, 8 cooking demos at the Santa Fe School of Cooking, 8 wine seminars at La Fonda Hotel, 40 nightly wine dinners, the Reserve Tasting, the Gruet Golf Classic and the piece de resistance, the Grand Tasting on Saturday afternoon September 27th at the Santa Fe Opera.

New this year is the Inaugural Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta Gran Fondo on the morning of Sunday September 28th, followed by the return of the Champagne & Dirty Boots Brunch at Four Seasons Rancho Encantado, hosted by Champagne Ruinart.

Visiting guests chefs hosting luncheons and cooking demos this year include Matthew Accarrino from SPQR who was honored this year as Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chef. Guest Chef Kevin Nashan of Sydney Street Café in St. Louis – a semi finalist for James Beard Best Chef Midwest 204 – returns to Santa Fe and co-hosts a lunch with Martin Rios. A James Beard Best Chef of the South, Michelle Bernstein, of Michy’s in Miami, will showcase her Latin flavors in a food and wine pairing with Champagne Ruinart.

Three of the country’s top Master Sommeliers will host 8 wine seminars during the event. Longtime supporters and introducers of SFWC events Joe Spellman and Tim Gaiser are joined by Master Sommelier Emily Wines.  Seminars include a Napa Valley AVA Masterclass, the Secrets of the Somms Blind Tasting, Grand Crus of Barolo, High Altitude Malbec with Colomé, The Family of Pinot as Paired with Cheese with Laura Werlin, and the Sparkling Odyssey of Champagne to New Mexico with the Gruet Family. We are honored to have the Gruet Family as this year’s Honorary Winery of the Year celebrating 25 years of making world-class sparkling wine in New Mexico.

Local chefs partnering with the visiting chefs and hosting luncheons and cooking demos include Eric DiStefano of Coyote Cafe, Charles Dale of Bouche Bistro, James Campbell Caruso of La Boca, Martin Rios of Restaurant Martin, Juan Bochenski of the Anasazi, Fernando Olea of Epazote, Matt Yohalem of Il Piatto, Andrew Cooper of Terra at Rancho Encantado, Jeffrey Kaplan of The Bistro at Santa Fe Courtyard, Kim Mueller of izanami and authors Bill & Cheryl Jamison.

Chefs Campbell, Rios, Nashan, Werlin and Tony Smith of Eldorado Hotel partner on Thursday, September 25th at the Live Auction Luncheon presented by LANB where this year’s Honorary Winery of the Year, Gruet, witl be honored. Five courses from five guest chefs paired with Gruet wines from Champagne and New Mexico will be one of the events you won’t want to miss. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Santa Fe’s Cooking With Kids.
